Focus Poetry

     Welcome to our Focus Poetry Page. Each week students will study a poem featured during our "Focus Poetry" time each day. Students receive a copy of the poem every Monday and keep them tucked in their writing folders until it is time to get them out for "Focus Poetry." Each day of the week we focus on a different skill, including the meaning the author wishes to convey to the reader, poetry features, vocabulary, and grammar. Students have an opportunity each day to focus on their fluency, comprehension, and reinforcing skills that are being taught in reading, writing, or word study.
