Cursive Handwriting

Dear Students & Families,

Starting on Monday, September 24th, students will begin having cursive handwriting homework each week. Students will have a mini-lesson based on the cursive homework students will complete that week and turn in by that Friday. We will shadow write over top of the letters using a yellow, orange, or lighter color marker first before using a pencil to practice creating the letters on our own. After students have completed both sides of the 2-sided cursive handwriting paper they will need to critique their handwriting by circling their best work on both sides. We will model and demonstrate how to do all of this on Monday. I will be looking for students best work, including spacing, neatness, and paying attention to where they are writing their letters on the lines provided on their paper. Students are more than welcome to do additional practice on loose leaf lined notebook paper, especially if they are finding some of the letters are more challenging to write.
